Triwizrd-a-Thon
Dec. 1st, 2021 11:11 amI did the Triwizard read-a-thon.
I did find myself pushing to get things read. I am glad I did it.
Here are some of the prompts and my reads:
A Book set in a Magical World — Dorothy Must Die — set in Oz
A Book with any type of Flying — The Interplanetary Expedition of Mars Patel He travels by flying through space to Mars
A Book where a Character has to collect an Item/Items —The Personal Librarian She is collecting items for the Pierpont Morgan Library
A Book that has Characters of different backgrounds coming together — The Man in the Brown Suit
A Book with "Gillyweed" on the Cover — any type of "weed" will do — The Secret Garden
A Book about Abduction or Kidnapping — Maze Runner
A Book that got lost in the Maze aka your TBR — Mysterous Affair at Styles
A Book that is 'Siriusly' Dark — Pun inteded! — Cthulhu Mythos Tales
A Book from an Author in the Graveyard Read a book from an author that has passed away — Murder on the Links
The prompt that I had trouble with — A Book you've thrown into the Cauldron and have to resurrect — Pick up a book that you did not finish (DNF)
Many challenges/read-a-thons like to include reading something you did not finish.
It's rare that I don't finish a book, but when I do there is a reason. If I am going back to try to read it again I need to look at: Why didn't I finish it? What has changed? Has my circumstances changed so that I would be more interested in the topic/themes/genre? Have I learned something about the book that makes me want to try again? I'm not going to read a book I hated so much a couldn't finish again just for the sake of finishing i.
