The Trouble with Cowboys
Feb. 24th, 2013 11:25 amI hate when characters have sex when they first meet. I know in contemporary romance there will be sex, but at least they can get to know each other first.
Amy meets Kellan at the store. They go to his place to discuss business. She is opening a restaurant - he owns the ranch known for having the best beef. And before they get any business discussed they are having sex. Why? Because Amy has a thing for cowboys. Afterwards she explains her number on rule is no cowboys, number 2 is to go to church on Sundays. So when Kellen corner's her after church is his Sunday best cowboy outfit he asks her out. She says no. Then he pins her against a wall and kisses her. Does she knee him? No. After the kiss and being asked twice she agrees because she can't resist a good looking cowboy.
It does get better. But their relationship is too much about sex for my tastes.
